Basalt meal is an extremely fine ground type of rock from volcanic regions. It contains high concentrations of silicon, calcium, magnesium and trace elements.
Silicon enhances cell structure and thereby increases the resistance of the plant against pests.
Basalt meal is particularly suitable for clay soils: it breaks the mutual connection between the heavy clay particles, which loosens the soil.
Basalt meal has the positive characteristic of capturing nitrogen in the soil, so that the soil doesn’t wash out as quickly.
